The Analysis Curiosity Shop

Random projects and investigations in a world of complexity

About November 29, 2006

I’ve spent my whole life wanting to understand the world better, often armed with my trusty copy of Excel. Techniques that I use include simple mathematical analysis, as well as mathematical modeling, statistics, optimisation, game theory, and monte-carlo simulation.

I draw on my experience from my degree in Experimental Psychology at Oxford, my MSc in Operational Research, and my career in such things at British Airways, the McLaren F1 team (where I was Race Strategy Analyst) and Tesco (where I analysed Clubcard data and created mathematical models used to predict revenues for new stores).

Anyway, I realised that I’ve accumulated lots of interesting investigations that others might find interesting, and here’s where I will summarise the results.
